I’ve applied to the University’s hardship fund but won’t hear back about that for 21 days. I’ve also majorly fucked up my rent as it’s meant to be in on the first but I don’t get my loan till the seventh. I usually hold back the rent from the previous month but I had to spend it over the holidays so I could go home, now my landlady wants me to start paying it on the first again so I have to get a months rent from somewhere. I can be a dumbass sometimes… well, most of the time actually.

That’s better. Finished my draft essay, so until next week I have a break from deadlines and such. I celebrated by buying a bunch of stuff I shouldn’t have. Some lovely face moisturiser and a room scenting candle. I also had to get some more tea bags, and saw some nice decaf ones I thought would be good as I like a cup in bed. When I got home I realised it’s actually a special kind of tea called Rooibus (Red Bush) which is sweeter than normal tea and apparently has lots of health benefits. A good stumble upon I guess.

Now that I have some time to myself I think I want to start writing something that’s been milling round my head while I was doing essays. I’ve been feeling pretty creative so it’s been annoying that I couldn’t act on any of my ideas. Generally the idea I’m building is a script based around traditional fables of the fox and the wolf. We’ll see if anything comes of it. I’m terrible for starting things I don’t finish…

I’m trying to resist my shopping urges, as money is tight right now and I’m already in a bit over my head with my finances. It’s difficult because my boyfriend, who does have a job, is coming to stay with me at the end of the month and is already talking about all the things he wants to buy. If I have to go shopping with him it’s going to be torture! Let’s hope I can persuade him we should stay in and rent a movie.

Better get started on that draft now. No rest for the wicked, aye?

On a different note I am discovering my love for David Bowie. Cheesy I know, but just too funky to resist. So for my favourites are Golden Years, Life on Mars, Fame, Changes, Young Americans… more too but those are the main ones. Definitely cheers me up when I’m stressed and tired

So obviously I thought this would be a great time to start a blog ^-^ I’m always so productive when I’m procrastinating.

I’m not sure what’s productive about a blog really, except that like a diary I can go back and read over my goals and thoughts and see if I’ve done anything about them…

So, I’m going to fly a plane this year

For my birthday in December my family bought my a joint (see expensive) gift of one flying lesson. It comes in the form of a voucher from a company called ‘Adventure 001′ redeemable for a 60 Min Aeroplane Trial Lesson at a variety of locations across the UK. Here’s the summary on the voucher:

Prior to the flight, our instructor will give a briefing on the effects of the controls and how the aircraft flies. During the flight, you will be allowed to take control and actually try flying the aircraft yourself!

Awesome. I would love to get a pilots license some day. I can book the lesson any time before September so I’ll write a wee review of the experience on here once I’ve come back alive. Would it be too much if I turned up wearing my Aviator hat?
